I have neglected this site for a while. The Eye of Tomorrow is now completed through part 7. I will try to update this site more frequently.
The final hi-res images sets of "Into the Chasm" and "The Eye of Tomorrow" are available for puchase from the Affects 3D Store. You can find these here.
Into the Chasm Parts 1 and 2: This story involves 2 women having a BDSM/Lesbian sexual encounter.
My first image set grew so large that I decided to split the set into 2 parts. My biggest problem with this collection was lighting the interior of a large cavern with a platform jutting out over a volcanic chasm. The lighting on the walls turned out either too dark or too bright. Once I got the set right, lighting brunette character Shayla proved equally difficult. Shayla is depicted standing, kneeling, and at blonde Lila's feet. This was a large area to light using just 3 spot lights. Lighting the 2 characters also had an affect on the set lighting. Part 1 went through 5 versions before I got everything done to my satisfaction.
Part 2 continues the story and takes place using the same set but closer to the entrance. The set needed to be rebuilt slightly to remove the archway that made up the entrance. The scene is more like an alcove which again made lighting the set problematic. There were pillars to contend with as well as using soft lights to minimize shadows on the characters and set. As the characters interacted and the camera setup changed, light and dark areas of the set were being revealed causing a reworking of the light positions.
This project proved to be a great learning experience. Even though everything involved in making these images was created on a computer, I had the same problems as if I were making an actual motion picture. In the end, I was basically storyboarding a movie by creating and rendering the keyframes.
The Eye of Tomorrow: I am currently working on this multi-part image set. There is an entire backstory to the plot that would be extremely difficult to create. It is an epic story with too many characters.
Part 1 - The Letter: Adventurer Kayley St. Johnns and her assistant, Madison Synclare, find an envelope outside their door. The envelope contains a letter stating someone is going to steal The Eye of Tomorrow. Also enclosed in the envelope is a piece of parchment. Kayley needs to find the relic, whatever it is, in order to protect it. Once their research has been completed, Kayley decides to have fun with Madison. Kayley turns off the room lights.
The challenge in "The Eye of Tomorrow - Part 1" was to light an interior set with the only source of light came from a fireplace. The difficulty here came from half of the characters being highlighted by the firelight and the other half of their bodied bathed in soft reflected light bouncing around the room. The problem was balancing the light intensities and softness of the main scene fireplace lights and the soft fill lights.
Part 1 is complete. The series is available for purchase at the Affect 3D Store.
The Dream of the Vampire: This project is in the creative phase. The scene involves a young woman who has a sexual encounter with a vampire. At the conclusion of the love scene, she is bitten on the neck. The woman suddenly awakens in a panic. Was she actually bitten? Was this just a dream? Was this an omen of things to come?
Big Brother Fan Art: "Big Brother", as far as I can tell, started as an online interactive game. With its growing popularity, a fan art web page was set up. I discovered the fan art while doing an image search. I found 2 of the characters quite interesting. They are Lisa and Olivia. After investing in characters and models, I created a lesbian seduction scene between Olivia and Lisa at the family pool deck.
I just finished this series and with a few final tweaks, I will be posting this to the Big Brother Fan Art website. Once posted, I will add the link.
I did not like how an hdri image lit the pool scene. The light was too subdued for a bright sunny day. I turned off the hdri image and got the bright sun light. Adding just a touch of yellow to the sunlight gave me the effect I wanted. But this is just the first of the series.
